Allumeria Progression: Flint to Palladium Route

The chain in one list

  1. Flint — surface rocks. Pickaxe, axe, sword, hammer.
  2. Copper — normal caves. First real armour (3 defence) and a 0.32s pickaxe.
  3. Iron (6 defence) → Silver (7) → Gold (10) — deeper cave layers, all smelted at a furnace.
  4. Forest (12 defence) — forest ingots, now crafted with thorns rather than gold since 0.15. Thorns drop from undergrowth and forest dungeon enemies. Forest pickaxe breaks harder rock.
  5. Cobalt (13 defence) — snow biome ore, behind the Snow Dungeon.
  6. Palladium (20 defence) — desert ore, and it needs the ice pickaxe the Snow Spirit drops.

Alongside the pickaxes, the actual gates are keys and bosses:

  • Forest Key → forest dungeon entrance. Since 0.15.3 keys only drop after the Forest Spirit dies.
  • Ominous Deer Skull (10 Skull Fragments, or the Forest Chest) → summons the Forest Spirit.
  • Frozen Heart → survive Freezing (30 damage per two seconds) long enough to clear the Snow Dungeon.
  • Ice pickaxe → palladium.
  • Desert dungeon key, assembled from key parts → the summoner → the Desert Worm.

Health is the other progression track

Your health bar is not fixed. Early Access 0.15 rebuilt it: you start at 100 and Heart Beets raise the maximum to 200, health regenerates naturally now, and the display changed from hearts to a bar because 100+ points do not read well as quarter-hearts. Heart Beets come from caves — the “Super Food” achievement is your first one.

This is the single biggest reason to distrust pre-August-2026 Allumeria guides: under the old system you had 20 points and up to 40 with Heart Beets, so every damage number in an old guide is on a different scale.

What to do at each stage

Forest stage. Flint tools, a shelter with a crafted floor (monsters only spawn on natural blocks), copper then iron gear, and a spawn point. Grab the Boots of Sprinting from any early cave chest. Kill forest enemies for thorns.

Forest dungeon stage. Summon and kill the Forest Spirit, take the Forest Key, clear the dungeon for the Forest Chest — Ominous Deer Skull and forest pickaxe — and mine the harder rock it opens. Forest armour at 12 defence roughly doubles what gold gave you.

Snow stage. Build the Frozen Heart before you go in. Cobalt gear, the Arctic Blade (24 damage, slows) or the Snowball Splitter (35 per shot, four snowballs), then the Snow Spirit’s four-piece fight for the ice pickaxe.

Desert stage. Palladium tools and armour, then the desert dungeon: keys, key parts, spawners you put out with purple fire, and the summoner. The Desert Worm has 2500 health and splits into three segments at half. It drops the Nightmare Blade.

What is not gated

Farming, fishing, building, NPCs and housing sit outside the chain — you can run a full village and a mutation farm in the forest without touching a dungeon. The NPC and housing guide covers the four NPCs, and the crop tables cover mutation. The in-game Adventure Guide in the Compendium is also a genuine progression tool: it is a node tree that expands as you discover things, most nodes hidden by default so it does not spoil the route.

Where the route currently ends

The desert is the end of Early Access content as of 0.15.4. There is no announced 1.0 date. What Infinimelon has said is being worked on next: the NPC system, moving drowning onto the effect system so it syncs in multiplayer, and making 3D biomes dynamic rather than fixed at world generation.
